What a difference a year makes?  When big Rob passed away late in 2017 we had to make some tough decisions about the future of NRG.  Rob was such an integral part of the business and his loss was a huge hit to us all.  Like all good little companies, we knuckled down, rolled up our sleeves and got stuck in.  12 months later and Rob would be proud of us.

From just over 24 months ago when there was only one Matrix installation in the country, aside from the global client Snap Fitness, we have completed almost 100 installations up and down the country.  These range from single pieces up to full fit outs.  All the way from Kerikeri down to Invercargill.  We’ve done Universities, independent operators, start-ups, long established clubs, big and small.

Sure, we’ve had some growing pains along the way and not everything has gone smoothly.  Because we are small, and we care, we make sure we fix things as quick as humanly possible.  Every one of our customers are as important as the other.  Because we have no ‘key accounts’ they have to be.

Now we have moved into a shared office with our freight forwarding company out by the airport.  We have a small showroom.  We have a full-time technician on the road in Auckland and we are getting out to see more operators every single week.  We still keep our operation as lean as possible, so we can still bring you the best possible prices for the great Matrix kit.

Now we only deal with Matrix equipment.  That focus has really made us experts in the gear.

For those of you who still don’t know Matrix, it’s manufactured by Johnson Health Tech (JHT) and is widely accepted as the second largest manufacturer of commercial equipment in the world.  It holds key supply accounts internationally with a wide range of customers including Four Seasons Hotels, Golds Gyms and Snap Fitness.  I think this range of customers talk to its adaptability, quality and exceptional value for money.  Closer to home in Australia, Matrix is now the preferred brand for Fitness First, Goodlife and World Gym (along with Snap Fitness).
